Using DXM to Combat Tolerance
Has anySWIY heard of anyone doing this? Any ideas on how SWIM might do this would be appreciated.

Re: Using DXM to Combat Tolerance
Can you be more specific? Like, do you mean tolerance to other substances? Tolerance to DXM? Tolerance to other ethnicities/backgrounds? The priestess is confused.
Also it would be nice if you elaborated on where your friend heard this information. |

Re: Using DXM to Combat Tolerance
Oh, sorry. Right, some clarification:
SWIM is looking for information on using DXM to prevent tolerance to adderall, for which he has a script (10mg IR 2x daily). SWIM has been known to play with this dosage, depending on what needs done that day. He enjoys the effects he feels at these low doses, and while he doesn't overly abuse the drug, never taking more than 40mg in a 24 hour period, he would like to keep it this way. At the close of the last semester, he felt his tolerance had begun to take effect, so he quit medicating for a week or so over break. He tells me that things are back to normal now. SWIM has read various unoffical experience reports on this site and more commonly Erowid in which people claim they used DXM to prevent a tolerance from building with continued adderall use. SWIMhas never been able to find any information as to how much DXM should be administered to achieve this effect, how often, or anything like that, really. Is SWIM being overly cautious about this, at the low levels he takes and regular doses? SWIM welcomes any information on this subject, be it in the form of personal experience or official reports, and he hopes that this makes more sense, now. |

Re: Using DXM to Combat Tolerance
That sounds like people are deluding themselves. There's no logic behind this from a chemistry standpoint.
The best way to keep tolerance down is to not take it every day. Pretty much anytime you can get away with out it, do so. At least one day a week, a full weekend a month, and when you can a week or two. Adderall doesn't need to build up like Prozac, so you actually benefit from breaks. If you do go on a binge, make sure to take time off after. When finals are done, just stock pile it away till school starts again. Nobody finds having some extras around is super useful in case they can't refill in time or needs some extra cash, or just wants some extra here and there. So take breaks when you can and you'll be fine, the stuff flushes out of you're system pretty quick and you won't need other drugs. |
