An addicted SWIM

Hi
SWIM has done his fair share of drugs and is no longer a user (thankfully). But swim is looking for some advise. Basically, a friend of a friend takes pills\speed\coke every weekend and he is so fried it's unreal. I'm not sure why this is bothering SWIM so much, but it is. This SWIM was in a club last night and when he saw SWIM, SWIM could tell he was fucked (as usual). SWIM made eye contact and the SWIM came over and instantly fell over and rolled on the floor claiming how great it felt (in the smoking area of this club). SWIM managed to get him on his feet and tried telling SWIM to calm down and that he needs to sort himself out (long term). At this point it looked like SWIM's skeleton was trying to force its way out of SWIMS skin. It's so hard to imagine\describe it without actually seeing it.SWIM told SWIM he'd had 2 grams of coke, 2 grams of speed and 6 pills and it was only 11 o clock. Anyhow... SWIM claimed he needs professional help and can't stop doing this to himself every weekend, that his friends don't care and SWIM was debating suicide that night. SWIM went to the piss pot and came out, and literally 30 seconds later found the SWIM on the dance floor having the time of his life.

SWIMs question is, what can SWIM do to help? It's bugging SWIM cause it's a waste of a life. I've tried telling the friend that connects us but he doesn't seem interested and he sees it as a joke. It's not really SWIMs place to sort it but SWIM can't stop thinking about it as nobody seems to care.
Cheers

Re: An addicted SWIM

I would put it down to being a phase, once he realises there's more to life than drugs, he'll soon stop.

SWIM went through the same thing, he did it for four years four nights a week. People used to tell him how ill he looked, looking back, he's glad he's still alive.

But like SWIM said, he has to want to stop, otherwise you'll just be wasting your breath.

Re: An addicted SWIM

SWIM also went through a two year period of VERY heavy xtc use, 3 or 4 times weekly 5 to 10 pills... swim ended up with bad depression and a ruined college experience.. well, no diploma... but swim is better now after 2 years of therapy with a psychologist...
