Re: Percocet vs Norco?
First off, I understand that it is prescribed to you and therefore it is legal for you to take it, but just to be on the safe side, please use SWIM (Someone Who Isn't Me) or say "my friend" or "this guy I know" or something like that. It's good to get in the habit of that since self incrimination is not allowed here.
With that said, what mg dosage are the Percocets? Norco is just a brand name for Hydrocodone Bitartrate and Acetaminophen. They come in 10/325mg's (10 mg's of Hydrocodone and 325 mg's of Acetaminophen) and 7.5/325 mg's. They are basically just the same thing as Lortabs or Vicodin - it's all Hydrocodone w/ Acetaminophen. While the brand name "Norcos" only come in 2 different strengths, Lortabs come in 4 different strengths, I believe. Percocet is Oxycodone w/ Acetaminophen. It comes in 6 different strengths: 2.5/325 5/325 7.5/325 7.5/500 10/325 10/650 Oxycodone is a little stronger than Hydrocodone. SWIM feels that he has to take about 10mg's of Hydrocodone to equal to 7.5 mg's of Oxycodone. Though he has read somewhere that 10 mg's of Hydrocodone is actually equal to about 6.6.mg's of Oxycodone. He is not sure how true this is though. So basically if the percocet is the same amount of mg's as the Norco's you were taking, then yes it will definitely be a little stronger. Their actions are almost identicle to each other with the exception that Oxycodone, for most people seems to be a little more euphoric. As far as therapeutically, which one will kill the pain more, SWIM is gonna have to say Oxycodone does just a little bit of a better job (for him anyway). Hope this helps answer your questions. Re: Percocet vs Norco?
No need to use SWIM if it is used as prescribed & there is no discussion of using it in conjunction with unprescribed substances.
