Hi all, I've read some post I found this forum very instructive.

First, let's clarify*the speed thing. Here in Canada we call it Speed, Pills, Candy... I'm not talking about meth, xtc*nor coke here.

I post today because I took Speed yesterday and found this morning that I lost 5 pound (in one day).

I already took Speed before but I was not really worried of my weight and all that esthetic stuff.

I do Bodybuilding intensively for 2 month now and Every aspect of my look, especialy Muscles and global Weight are very important to me.

Taking 5 or even 3 pounds is a real GOOD thing in Bodybuilding and I can be hard sometime. I know that Speed cut the appetite off but I was wondering If it is also burning muscle ?

You know... I REALLY need to know the truth on that because I know I can force myself to take meals while taking speed, but*I would not take speed at all if I*knew that*speed "inevitably" makes you lost weight or burn your muscles, for some chemical reasons.

And if that's the case (that speed will makes me loose weight or burn my muscles even If I eat 3-4 meals while on Speed), would you please suggest me another Stimulent drugs, whitout the negative effect of weight lost or muscles burning. (ex; coke etc..)BANNEDEdited by: BA

have you ever seen a speed addict that looked good? Almost every drug burns muscle. I know for a fact that GHB doesn't, but don't know from other stimulants

The reason why speed made you lose 5 pounds in a day is because it is a slight diuretic, meaning that you urinate more. It's not possible to burn 5 pounds of fat in a day.

Speed will "help" you lose weight in the following ways:

1) It will decrease your appetite
2) It wil increase your heart rate
3) It dehydrates you

The first part is very helpful. Eat only what you need to in order to preserve/build muscle mass. If you don't eat enough food obviously you will loose muscle mass along with fat. Speed will not directly affect your weight. It only effects your appetite. What you choose to eat or not eat affects your muscle mass and fat.

Speed will increase your heart rate while you are on it. If you are taking a dose appropriate for appetitie suppression the change in heart rate should be very little. It's not really a factor in weight loss.

Higher doses of speed dehydrate you by making you have to pee more often. If you are going to do very intensive exercise you need to make sure you are drinking enough water. Lots of people (who take Ritalin, Dexedrine, or Adderall ADHD) have the same "problem". It's really not that difficult to manage and is only a slight problem at the highest allowed doses.

If you are taking an appropriate dose for appetite suppression your weight loss will only be coming from the fact that you are eating less. No drug is going to "burn" your muscles when taken at appropraite doses. High doses of stimulants can cause significant damage to your heart though.

However, if you are using speed appropraitely (when you are losing extra weight just before a competition or something) these shouldn't be a problem.

Speed is only going to help you stick to a diet for a few weeks (maybe up to two months if you know what you are doing). After that you become tolerant to the dose and either need to increase it (which leads to an addiction) to discontinue it. Speed is probably best used sparingly to avoid "binging"/breaking your meal plan.

If you find that you are able to stick to a good meal plan in the morning and afternoon then there is no need for speed during that time. If your problem with sticking to your meal plan happens when you come home at 5pm, then it might be appropriate to take speed just before then.

Use it to stick to a meal plan only when you need it. The more you use it the less effective it becomes.

I will base dosage recomendations on my familiarity with amphetamines (Adderall) being prescribed for weight loss. Adderall is 50% ampetamine and 50% dextroamphetamine. It's very similar to speed.

You want to use speed to help, but not to do all the work for you. You want to take the lowest dose possible so that you are least dependent on speed for weight loss.

5mg (swallowed) as needed half should be good. That dose should help keep your appetite down (mostly it will make you feel full faster) for about 5 hours.

If it is not effective you can try 7.5mg and then 10mg. If 10mg is not effective then you should try something else, don't go higher.

If you are going to be taking this for more then a few weeks you can build up to 12.5mg. I wouldn't recomend going any higher than that.

Speed lasts about 6 hours, so it wouldn't be a good idea to take a high dose before bedtime.

The difficulty in dosing this is that quality of speed ranges drastically. My dosage recomendations are based on pure speed. To make it simplier you might want to do this:

Start out by taking 1/8 of a recreational dose. If it is not effective build up to 1/4 of a recreational dose. If you are going to be using it for more than a few weeks you might want to build up to 1/3 a recreational dose.

Once again only take it when you need it. If I were to take speed for weight loss I would do it like this:

Take 1/8 of a recreational dose around 5 pm on weekdays.

Only take it for the times when you have difficulty following you meal plan. If you are able to follow your meal plan already, obviously there is no use for speed.

GHB is actually great for bodybuilders yet it isnt a stimulant but it is used as a sleep aid and also stimulates growth hormones. Many athletes and bodybuilders used it until its ban in 1990. CHeck it out.

I am a moderate speed user, meaning that I do have psychological dependance and some physiological dependance. I have found it to be a great drug. However, while on the drug I have almost no interest in food self-administration. You need to be conscious of the effects amphetamine and dextroamphetamine have on appetite supression. Following binge use, you will still not have an appetite. Appetite will be replaced with a ravishing, unpleasant emptiness in your stomach. This can be avoided by (and is STRONGLY recommended that you do so) eating periodically even when you don't feel like it. Terrible come-down effects are apparent when food is absent in your system. A substance that has greatly helped with my habitual use of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine is Ensure protein shakes. Not the greatest tasting, but can be in place of midday eating, and much easier than doing so. THIS SHOULD NOT BE USED IN PLACE OF ALL MEALS. It can just help with the comedown if you don't plan to binge for more than a day. I am a mild smoker (4-5 cigarettes a day or so), so a cigarette once in a while can also help soothe my comedown, but that can't really be applicable to non-smokers. A word of chemical wisdom: As 788.4 said, amphetamine is a diuretic, which may account for your 5 pound loss in one day. (I will say however, that 5 pounds in one day is incredibly uncommon with or without speed, and is very serious. If you did not make a miscalculation, I would discontinue amphetamine use immediately. But, I don't think you were incredibly accurate, i.e. you may have used a different scale or just not read it correctly.) Back to my first point, Amphetamine or any of it's chemical brotheren (dextroamphetamine, methamphetamine, or ephedrine) does not "burn" fat or muscle. It merely decreases appetite and incites urination. Finally, keep in mind that amphetamine is highly addictive. Obviously, it depends on who you are, and how prone you are to addiction and/or abuse. You may find it difficult to maintain your 1/8-of-a-recreational-dose plan, and if you use speed often, you may develop a tolerance. Any questions reply.

I should have emphasized how addictive speed can be. It is certainlly a risk worth considering. If you use only low doses the risk should be minimized.

It would be similar to taking 5 -12.5 mg of Adderall once or twice a day. Addiction is more likely to occur at higher, recreational, doses.

On second thought I think it might be better for you to see a bariatrician (weight loss doctor). The results would be better, it might cost less, and the risks of addiction would be almost zero. They charge about $100-$150 for their monthly plans (which includes the cost of the prescription drugs). They are probably more able to help you than we or you are. The drugs they will prescribe a very effective and significantly less adictive. They will help you determine when and how often you should take the drugs. Most of the doctors have a standard plan that includes a prescription.

You can locate one of them near you using this website:

If you are in or near New York City and want a recomendation for a doctor you can send me a PM.

You guys cant say Amphetamine is addictive and coke isnt... SWIM has used amphetamine for a couple years or more and hasnt had any problems whatsoever with addiction, he is also on a constant (free) supply of them so addiciton would be easier for him than others. This is coming from a person who had trouble quitting pot..He does coke and craves it all the next day.

Anyway he also notices fluxuation in weight when using amphetamine, it isnt burning muscle though, at leat no noticable amount. He also does some bodybuilding and using it has never affected his gains.

swim uses amphetamine fairly regs and has never had a problem with addiction! swim might think "i'm tired, speed would come in handy right now" or "i wouldn't mind a bit of speed" but NEVER, "omg, i neeeed speed!". i can take it or leave it. Something to remember: control the drug, don't let it control you, it's mind over matter.
