Gooday People. Merry Christmas. Swim performed a cold water extraction upon 10 8mg/500mg cocodamol tablets, just codiene and paracteamol, for the first time. Swim dissolved the tablets in a glass of warm but not hot water, then swim placed the glass of water in the freezer for maybe an hour until cold. Swim saw the liquid was cloudy, swim also saw powder at the bottom of the glass which swim gathers is the paracetamol.When swim filtered the cloudy liquid from the powdery substance at the bottom using a coffee filter he told me he thought to himself how there wasnt as much powder filtered off as he thought there would be Swim became paranoid about paracetamol poisoning so he performed a second extraction which left no visible powder extracted after it had been recooled in the freezer.
Swims basic question to swiyou is does this sound normal or familiar. considering that 10 8/500's would mean one would be trying to filter 5g of paracetmol out of the solution yet the filtered powder looked like considerably less.

Is the filtered water still cloudy at all? If the water is COLD and Clear, then it should be fine assuming the coffee filter was good enough.

well, swiy could let the filter dry and weight it. by comparing that weight to the weight of a dry filter, swiy can roughly judge how much nosoluble material was caught. if it weights even 2 grams swiy's liver will be thanking him (assuming hes a male)

swims end product was cloudy. what coffee filters should swim use?

My Dalek uses grade 3 coffee filters, hes not a coffee drinker so that means nout to him. If swiy needs a little more insurance when filtering try using 2 coffee filters at once place inside each other and then place a thick paper towel into swims filter.

While one may be missing out on a little more of the solution its probley better than taking the risk with ACAP. But one could always add a bit more water to start with to compensate. Hope that helps.

This is my daleks method hes been using for months and if it helps his blood test came back normal even though the night before the blood test my Dalek stupidly CWE'd! So hes convinced its a good method. (y)
