Hey All,

Just wanted to give all of you forum members a useful, safety tip. I am prescribed narco pain killers for a serious accident i was in a while back. Like many of you, Im concerned with the effects that these pills may have on my liver. I have recently discovered a VERY useful homeopathic remedy that significantly aids in the protection of one's liver.

It is called "Milk Thistle" and can be purchased over the counter at just about any drug store or pharmacy as well as most health stores.

Taking this pill with meals as recommended on the directions GREATLY helps one's liver and aids in the general repair/well being of one's self.

Drinking a large amount of water obviously furthers this end.

This sounds kind of interesting I wish there was more hardcore evidence backing this up. It it really does protect your liver that awesome, but I wonder if it protects your liver you think it would inhibit the enzymes in grapefruit juice from doing there job in potentiating opiates?

I dunno I want some more conclusive facts on how Silymarin, the active compound in milk thistle works. Sounds like a promising idea for those who are worried about liver damage from whatever reason.

It is also reported to have other positive effects on your body like lowering cholesterol levels and it is claimed to slow the growth of certain cancer cells. It is also used in many 'hangover cure' products, but that shit doesn't work. Drink some water.

Does any1 think or know whether or not using milk thistle in combination with rec. drugz would have an adverse effect on absorption of rec. drugs or the high?

Milk thistle's great for heavy drinkers and users of liver damaging substances. I have read it helps to repair the liver.
