the first time SWIM tried amphetamine, he was just expecting the "upper" effect: a stimulant rush, speediness, hightened senses, altered state of mind. SWIM was quite suprised and pleased to find the deeper mental effects of a dose of speed. thinking about aspects of his life and concerns that he has day-to-day, SWIM pondered the things that affected him the most, especially his girl. All the issues in SWIM's life seemed mentally laid out, and he seemed to think about and solve each one individually. While the amphetamine high made SWIM feel more outgoing and social, it was also a very introspective, eye-opening experience. of course, the mind-expanding effects of amphetamine are likely nothing compared to psychedelics like psilocybin and lsd, but amphetamine's effects are definitely more than a "rush" or a "high." but then again, SWIM's heard some people who've tried acid say that they didn't feel any sort of expanding of their minds, so SWIM guesses that every drug experience has a different impact on each individual, but in the right state of mind, an amphetamine user can not only enjoy the powerful effects of the drug, but also apply their newfound sense of reality to look deeper into their own psyche. a very interesting experience that SWIM has repeated many times since his first, always respecting and enjoying the potent substance.
