Opinions - Dihydrocodeine Tartrate

Hi all

I recently got 100 Dihydrocodeine Tartrate (DF 118) 40mg tabs.

How many is it safe to take to get a decent high, bearing in mind it doesn't have any paracetomol or any of that shit in it?

Any info would be appreciated.

Dihydrocodeine is twice as potent as codeine. Take some according to tolerance. For first-timers, pop two of those to be good. Take some Benadryl or if you can, promethazine, before hand.

Yeah, well let's just say someone I know decided to take 240mg of DHC and..... got well buzzed and blacked out, and has just woken up in bed with the TV still on and all the lights on and with no re-collection of how he got there lol...... so I think 240/280 mg is a safe enough dose for this friend of mine....

SWIM would take issue with this - he finds it a *bit* stronger, definitely not twice as strong though. Most information SWIM has been able to find about it say it's about as strong, or up to 1.5 times as strong, as codeine. Then again, it could vary from person to person with individual metabolism.

One poster on here said it must be twice as strong because 'di' means 'two'.

Good tip on the antihistamines, it'll help stop one scratching one's skin off. Though SWIM likes to wait till the itchies have started, to know that the stuff's working, before popping his cetrizine.

Well.... I'm not sure what end-result this friend of mine was seeking... it's all about trial and error at this stage! I certainly wouldn't recommend that dosage for, say, the middle of the day. But maybe I should advise this friend to lower the dose.... blacking out seems such a waste of an evening.....
