Fainting after taking adderall?
SWIM has been divulging in adderall use for about a month now. SWIM normally takes 20 mg tablets, but sometimes decides to try some 30s.
Today, SWIM took a 30 mg XR and a 20 mg IR before school at 7:35 AM. He started feeling the effects within 45 minutes, and felt the rush for almost 7 hours non-stop. At 3:00, SWIM went home and laid down in his bed, and thought about every tiny thing that came to his mind. W hen his mom came home and called him out to eat at 6:30, SWIM got up and decided to use the bathroom. As soon as he walked in the bathroom, he started to get lightheaded, which he knows is normal if you get up too fast. He tried to make his way to the toilet as fast as possible so he could sit down. He took about 2 steps, and then the next thing he knew, he had just fallen backwards into the bathtub, tore down the shower curtain, ripped his fingernail open, and knocked down the "shelf" (for lack of a better word) of soap, shampoo, etc. This has happened to SWIM on more than one occasion so far, and he can never remember to get up slowly. He knows that taking adderall can make you dizzy if you get up too fast, but he has never heard of anybody actually blacking out. He notices that if he participates in smoking marijuana at lunch, he doesn't pass out when he gets up. Unfortunately, he isn't able to smoke every single time that he takes it. Is there any way that he can keep himself from fainting? |

Re: Fainting after taking adderall?
Nobody's been a lifelong stimulant user and has grey out issues on a regular basis, being tall doesn't help.
Eat properly, real easy to skip meals on this stuff, real easy to end up malnourished. Take your time getting up from reclining or sitting in a way that you knees are bent tight (kneeling, cross legged, poor chair postures) Be careful about taking larger doses then usual. XR causes nobody all sorts of issues, they won't touch the stuff. This may be part of it. Exercise and stretch more often. Take regular breaks from sitting, especially long periods at the computer. THC can make these effects worse. When you first start to notice this going on, get to the ground ASAP. Walking faster, especially in panic can make it worse. You're still young, possibly still growing, this is a legitimate excuse if your parents get worried. The heart doesn't always keep up with the body. If you are getting this from a doctor, might be worth mentioning it, of course they may change your script. If the adderall is working well, tell them you'd like them to know, but aren't concerned as of yet. Stay safe. |
