Oral use - new to 100mg kadian

Swim has been thru lots of therapy and pain meds. Swim has had bad anxiety do to her latest perscrip. Swim was taking 2 5mg oxycotin every 4 hours for about the last month. Before that swim was taking 5mg oxycodone for about 2 months when needed. Before that swim was taking loratab 7.5/325 and vicodin 7.5/500 every 4-6 hours and was on that for a good 2 years on and off. Now doctor wants to try for chronic pain 100mg kadian. Swim is sceptic about this new to swim drug. Swim has read reviews that swim should not crush and swim should not take if dont have a high tolerance to this certain drug. Now Swim was hoping to find out from swiy if with the background of cotin and codone is enuf that swim dont have to worry about tolerance levels just because swim has not had kadian b 4. Swim has had many other opiats cuzz of course when swim could not afford script swim would buy from friends in similiar situations. Swim thanx every 1 for takign the time to read swims post.

Please do the math in advance That's a total of 60mg per day. That's a decent habit.

Don't listen to "reviews", whatever those are, everyone has different needs/tolerances.

The drug is not "kadian" but morphine. 100mg, orally, is a decent dose. What's the dose in hospitals, like 10mg IV? Swiy has no tolerance to "this certain drug" but a general tolerance to this entire family of drugs, aka Opioids.

As for "Is it time to upgrade?", if Swiy feels legitimate need for increase in medications, go for it. If Swiy is worried about addiction/tolerance, then no.

Personally, Swim would taper doses, get completely off the meds, and restart back out on them, to keep dosages down, and NOT take as prescribed, but only as needed, which is 1000x smarter IMHO.

Besides all that, lucky bastard. Swim can't even get 5mg oxycodones or 5mg hydrocodones with chronic pain.

Kadian is a time released Morphine much like the Avinza's that SWIM takes.SWIY is currently on a op8 dose that wouldn't be effected THAT much by switching to a time released med.SWIY might find that the "time release" dosn't last the full 24 hrs. and may even look into break through meds.
