Mylan patch help!!
Hey all, I'm new around here and hope this post is smooth by your standards. SWIM has a chronic pain condition treated mostly by hydrocodone for years. Their doctor prescribed the mylan patches, the 50's and these were a bit too strong, even after a couple of weeks of trying the 25 strength, which didn't last long enough. so it was back on hydrocone. However, swim has been experiencing great discomfort and the hydrocone don't seem to be effective at all with great nausea the result of taking enough of the medicine to attain relief after coming back from the patches. So they researched & saw that mylans were seemingly ok to cut in order to lower the dose because the control mechanism stays the same, proportional to the size of the piece used because of the 'matrix' design. So they cut the 50 in half, and applied it around 8pm(never abused these by ingesting thru any other way. always worn them trans-dermally) in order to achieve some relief and sleep last night. Well the relief was ok, minimal, and they decided to apply the other half of the patch today around noon, 16 hours later..hoping that this would decrease the intensity of the patch while still effectively managing the pain. Well tonight, say 6pm, if they feel the patch may be too strong, but still want to maintain relief and not waste both parts, which would be wiser to remove, the part applied first or the one 2nd? The first has released most its peak concentration(applied for about 24 hrs) while the 2nd hasn't(~7hrs), and I want to be able to sleep tonight and acheive some relief tomorrow as well. I'm sorry if this is long I just don't want to keep them both on and have problems, while if I remove them both I will be very uncomfortable thru the night and/or especially in the morning and we know how that is. If anyone has any experience with these or can help that'd be great! Thanks for your help!

obviously a newb post, wish editing was an option, it is on most boards I frequent. but the info is all the same and they are legitimitely prescribed..swim wants to be comfortable with as few complications as possible. somewhat urgent if anyone could chime in...thanks all
