Switching from alprazolam to clonazepam
Swim has heard stories that clonazepam can only be half the strength of alprazolam. Today swim's doctor switched swim from 1mg alprazolam 4x day to 2mg clonazepam 2x a day. Is this a safe transition in terms of a mg to mg conversion?

For withdrawal/tapering purposes, 0.5mg of alprazolam and 0.5mg clonazepam are both equivalent to 10mg diazepam

1mg alprazolam qds = 80mg diazepam

2mg clonazepam bd = 80mg diazepam

So yeah, the numbers look OK, although subjective experiences may vary
