Rookie confusion / formication
Sorry for the long post, gonna bold the important bits if you dont wanna read through it all. Swim is not sure if this is the right forum for this but feels he will get the best answer here.
Swim's past drug experience: THC off and on, but hasnt smoked in a good 6 months+ Tried X once, enjoyed it. Tried Oxycodone (percocet) once, small dosage, didnt like it. And recently has been experimenting with Adderall. Swim's friend has prescription, who has been taking it his whole life (is ADD), but quit after High School. After a 2 year break, swim's friend got a new prescription for work purposes. Swim's friend has Swim try one (Swim's first time), this was about 2 months ago. Swim thought it was alright, particularly liking how easy he was able to make conversation and keep a conversation going with others, something Swim has always been bad at. Swim began taking one before going out and doing anything social. This went on for about 2 weeks. Then swim's friend wanted swim to try one before going to work, to see the other side of the drug (swim's impression of Adderall at this point was that it was an awesome social/party drug). Swim does so, and is amazed at how much he gets done, almost effortlessly, and how work does not really feel like work, but more like fun, when on Adderall. For the last month or so, swim begins taking a half before work and a half before lunch (swim does not really prefer the wired/"cracked out" feeling at work, but enjoys the productiveness, so prefers to take it in halves). After work, swim usually feels the need to vent and talk, as he comes down, so ends up visiting friend, usually taking another half at this point, so he can stay up til 2-4am socializing with his friends after work. This is swim's new routine/background, now back to the situation. Starts yesterday. Swim's sleep schedule is very messed up at this point,s wim has new job working from 3pm to midnight. Swim had yesterday off. Swim wakes up at usual time, 2pm. Swim had got an adderall of his friend night before, because Swim had a lot of things to get done around the house on his day off. Swim takes whole adderall upon waking up, and begins cleaning. Swim gets most everything done by 5pm. Swim then helps friend2 work on car all day, until 11. Swim and friend2 split a 6pack. Friend1 calls Swim and wants to hang out, swim and friend2 meet up with friend1 around midnight. Both of swim's friends want to go out, swim tells friend1 that he's too tired, been workin on stuff al day, but swim does want to go out, so ends up taking half an adderall with friend1. Friend2, who has only tried it once, takes a whole(12am). They get to their destination. Swim and friend1 are jealous, so take another half (1am). Friend2 leaves at 2am, Swim and friend1 end up hanging out until 4am. Swim has learned by now that he would rather be at home settled in before he starts coming down, so head home when he starts to feel the comedown. Swim gets home, and is still feeling fine, surfs itnernet, begins to read book, starts to feel very physically tired, is ready to crash. 5:30am. Shit starts to hit the fan for Swim. Tired, but too into his book to go to sleep quite yet. It starts with a mosquito bite. Swim takes minute to track the mosquito down and make sure its dead. Satisfied, swim continues reasing. Swim begins to feel bugs crawling on him. Everywhere, legs, things, back, arms, neck especially, and hair. Swim can only read half a line of text in his book before he feels another bug on him. Swim cant find anything though. Swim begins to think maybe he has mites in his bed (remembers how dirty his house was before he cleaned it that day), or ants were crawling on him (remembers sitting in the grass earlier in the day). Swim still cant find any physical evidence though, so he begins to tell himself its in his head. At this point swim begins to see the occasional bugs out of the corner of eyes. Swim now thinks hes going crazy. 6:15am, Swim is fed up, thinks its in his head, tries to keep his mind off it, and go to sleep. Nothing he does can help, no matter how hard he tries. 7am, swim gives up. Swim gets out of bed and on the computer and begins to do a little research. Swim is a little relieved, the find out that this feeling is actually not in his head, and is a very real sensation. But Swim is now confused as to why he is experiencing this. Swim did not take an unuasually high dosage, according to the bottle which prescribes 2 a day, swim is hardly abusing it (besides the fact that hes taking it for reasons not prescribed). Swim knows this is a problem often experienced with meth users, and is often a withdrawal symptom, but has a hard time finding a lot of evidence or cases on this occuring with Adderall users. 9am, 9 hours after taking the first half of the night, ideally when the effects of the drug should be gone, swim is tired and feels like the bugs, while still there, are a little less noticeable and less frequent. It is now light outside, and swim lays down and passes out fairly quick. Swim wakes up at 1pm. He remembers the bugs, but it seems like theyre gone now, he is relieved. Now he just feels extremelly tired. He gets up, showers, goes to work. On the way to work he feels a bug once or twice. Gets to work, and he feels fine. Then he goes on break, and he feels them again. He now realizes that while busy at work, he doesnt feel them, but on break trying to relax, he feels them again. He feels them off and on the entire day. Swim has no desire to ever take another adderall, and goes the whole day without one despite being very tired physically and mentally. It is now 2:30am, Swim talked to friend1 after work and friend1 has a hard time believing him, and once he does believe it, refuses to believe its the adderall and instead tells swim that its probably sleep deprivation or something. Swim still feels them, not nearly as intense as the night before, but thinks it will still prevent him from getting a much needed night of rest. Swim will find out soon enough. In summary, swim needed to vent, but also has questions. Swim is wandering what is causing this feeling, that he now knows is called Formication, could it be a mix of a lot of things, or is it the adderall alone? Is there anyway to get over it? How long is it going to last? Autumnsoath added 35 Minutes and 25 Seconds later... Forgot to mention, this is not XR, but the small orange pills, 20mg doses I believe.
