Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, Cannabis, and Nitrous
When SWIM was 14 or 15, and getting other drugs was very difficult for him, this was one of his favourite combinations, but only recently (and after a good few more years of other drug use/abuse) has he realised how powerful and really quite amazing this combo is. After a year or so of doing this about once a month, he generally scheduled his doses as such:
First, crush 8-12 HBW seeds as finely as possible, and mix into about 50mL of warm water with lemon juice and honey (just for the taste of the seeds, you can just munch them if you want, or follow someone else's tek with peppermint oil or similar for LSH and such, SWIM knows little about those).
To start, smoke a cone or two, just enough to feel it lightly, take the shot of seeds in water, and wash it down with some fruit juice or similar. SWIM finds that not having eaten for at least 6 hours previous to this greatly reduces the nausea most people experience with HBW.
Now, the next bit depends on how the individual feels about cannabis and tripping. While SWIM has always felt that cannabis greatly enhances psychedelics, bringing out visuals, and helping with relaxation and uncomfortable body loads, many of his friends find that it tends to override them and that they just feel stoned rather than tripping.
If you are like swim and feel the former, (more likely if you are a daily cannabis user, like SWIM) then simply smoke cones as desired to deal with nausea throughout the come-up. If you feel the latter, he always found drinking good (made from real ginger) ginger beer to be one of the best things, as ginger is a poweful anti-nausea agent and the carbonation in the drink also helps. If you can handle the taste and spiciness, chewing on a piece of ginger root also helps a lot, and feels slightly warming to counteract the come-up chills.
Once he reached the peak, after around an hour, SWIM often liked to smoke a little more as it was usually wearing off by then, and, as before, it made it easier for him to adjust the intensity of the HBW experience. (Especially with LSD, LSA/H, and shrooms, SWIM finds that cannabis essentially just increases the intensity and removes nausea, without affecting other aspects of the trip, however this is only true for amounts of cannabis up to just slightly higher than those he would usually be able to act totally himself on, i.e. where it has no psychedelic effect of it's own)
At this point, a balloon of nitrous will send SWIM in to a pretty far-out state, slightly (SLIGHTLY) reminiscent of the DMT experience, lots of "mosaic"-type geometric visuals, small parts of the visual field being repeated all over, lots of repetitions of sounds, often feeling like rushing through a vortex or a tunnel. Each additional balloon takes SWIM further and further. SWIM remembers one occasion, when he was sitting in a (quite safe) tree watching his friends party below, where after a few balloons he would have just a small breath of nitrous every few seconds, breathing normally in between, and this kept him in a very interesting state, able to purely observe without judgement etc., but unfortunately also mostly without any comprehension.
Back when SWIM was doing this, he didn't really have the experience, werewithall, etc. to get anything useful out of the experience, he just saw it as a cheap and not too dangerous (compared to alcohol, methamphetamine, which were the only other options available at that point) way of getting wasted. He wants to try this again sometime soon to see if this was because the nitrous and cannabis would have dulled it enough without his being aware, or if these days, with a bit more careful thought, this could be a useful (and for the important bit, legal in most places) tool for anything real.
