Night Terrors

Hey everyone, i've been reading these forums for a while now but never actually posted anything. SWIM has been using ecstasy for about 3 years now, in the first year SWIM did it about 8-10 times (usually 2-3 pills a time). In the second year SWIM did it every friday but sometimes 2-3 times a week (usually 4-5 pills a time).

The last year SWIM has cut down quite abit but the last few months to a year SWIM has been experiencing 'night terrors'. SWIM will go to bed and then about an hour later SWIM will wake up hallucinating seeing stuff that isn't there. SWIM will usually have about 5 seconds of sheer panic and then realise it's not really there, shine SWIM's mobile phone on whatever SWIM is seeing and it vanishes.

It's kind of disrupting SWIM's sleep making SWIM feel tired in the morning due to being interrupted. They have been becomming more and more frequent aswell, the first one happened about a year ago but the last month especially SWIM has been having them 4/5 times a week. Like SWIM said the last year or so SWIM has cut down on ecstasy use doing it about 9-10 times this year (usually 1-2 pills a time).

SWIM's hallucinations include seeing a ginger guy with glasses at the bedroom window, rabbits under the bed, a dog on the windowcill, three girls SWIM knows giggling in the corner of his room, SWIM's nana in between his computer and monitor with the arms of a t-rex.

As you can tell SWIM wants this to stop, so do you guys think it's down to ecstasy? SWIM did mushrooms when he went to Amsterdam in February (Hawaiian ones), doesn't do weed, does coke every so often (about 5 times a year max).

SWIM was thinking of maybe supplementing with ZMA caps as they are meant to be good for sleep. SWIM would really appreciate anyones thoughts on SWIM's night terrors and if there's anything that could stop them from occuring. SWIM is also gonna try and keep ecstasy usage down to 4 times a year (spaced out every 3 months like people on the forum recommend) until he is mature enough to stop using it all together.

Re: Night Terrors

swim doubts this is from mdma use but swim has nothing to back this up. swim may want to see some kind of doctor or something. getting a medical opinion would be very wise. swim could definately try sleep aids. phenibut is great for sleep/reducing anxiety. anyways good luck.

Re: Night Terrors

I have no doubt this is from MDMA abuse. Yes - ABUSE. The solidity and realness of the hallucinations are a key-indicator for this class of drug. How is SWIM's time-sense doing? Any gaps?

On a positive note: Once SWIM has stopped abusing this material, things should - slowly - return to normal. He should also apologize to his nana for feeding her to a T-Rex. Tsk, tsk, tsk...

Re: Night Terrors

I think SWIY is on the right track with cutting down. As SWIY experienced this 4/5 times a week I'd also see a doctor, talk openly to him (about all substances) and then have him give SWIY something to shut SWIY's brain down at night.

SWIM may be wrong but it would appear the problem with talking openly to a doctor about the use of substances is that they're probably much less inclined to offer you something to shut your brain down as they know you've done recreational drugs before.

SWIM only made good experiences with being honest to his doctors.

Re: Night Terrors

SWIM had possibly the worst 'night terror' yet last night. SWIM was in a bus station and 3 double decker buses were all coming towards him and crushed him. SWIM woke up screaming like a little girl.

SWIM definitely thinks it's time to have a break from ecstasy and all substances in general. The problem is SWIM can no longer enjoy going to a club without ecstasy. SWIM associates the drug with great times and it's not the same experience without ecstasy so maybe SWIM is psychologically dependant on the drug for a good time.

Everytime SWIM has the drug though the next day he regrets it big time as he's dying in his bed pretty much all day the next day (yes, SWIM combines it with excess amounts of alcohol, and yes SWIM knows this isn't the smartest move). The last year though SWIM's friends have stopped using ecstasy so i think that will make it alot easier to stop doing them.

Thanks for your answers guys, Panthers 007, when you say time-sense and any gaps do you mean whilst awake?

Re: Night Terrors

To really see what's going on it would be best if SWIY quit all drugs for 6 months to a year. That would probably be the best thing for SWIY.

Re: Night Terrors

Just an update on the situation, i've started having 3g of taurine before i go bed and i haven't had a night terror yet, infact i've been having the best sleep i've ever had. I definitely rate this supplement so anyone in the same situation might benefit from supplementing with it.

Re: Night Terrors

Going see a doc and open up, reportin all what swiy's done/experienced would be the smartest move, along with cuttin down the use of any illegal substance.
Ppl here may give swiy "friendly" advices based on their experience (and for the most of ppl here on good faith too), but a medical/scientific advice is totally something else, surely much safer and close to real.

Re: Night Terrors

there's no way of knowing that these things are from drugs. It easy to blame all weird shit that goes on in your head on drugs when there might not be a link at all.

Most likely this stuff is to do with emotions/anxiety in your waking life that is manifesting itself at night. .
