Combinations - Codeine dosing..

SWIM has a 5mg percocet (oxycodone) and just got a script for tylenol 3...

SWIM is curious how much codeine to take to feel good. SWIM normally takes 20mg of oxycodone (up to 30mg) and this has swim feeling amazing...

So swim wants to know how much codeine is equivelent???

Threads asking "I do substance A so whats the equivalent for substance B" are a bad idea generally for the following reasons:

1) Everyone has VERY different tolerances and substances break down different in everyone.

2) Drugs have different availabilities in different people. If you take 2 People with zero tolerance, the same dose of the same drug has potential to do different things to them.

3) It is especially more dangerous for drugs that have the potential to kill. For example, if someone usually consumes, let's say, 30-40mg oxycodone and asks "How much Heroin should I take to equal effects", and someone gives them the idea that 100mg is good, when in reality, that 100mg could be too much for them.

The REAL answer to OP's question is: Start dosing slowly in increments, and when you reach a point where you feel it is comparable to 30mg oxycodone, you have found an equivalent dosage.

Really people, all it takes is a little bit of time to dose up slowly. Are we so impatient we cannot wait for a drug to kick in to be safe, or must we all Overdose?

Take 1 tablet. Wait a bit. Nothing happening 30min-1hour later? Take another. Still nothing? Keep dosing until something happens. Of course, CWE!

OP, make sure to CWE the codeine, as T3's have APAP in them, which is bad in amounts higher than normal therapeutic dosages.
