certain drugs and their stigmas

people everywhere associate certain types of drugs with certain types of people. almost generalizing. but wim was wondering, when swiy hears or thinks about these drugs what social groups/classes and types of people does SWIY associate them with? they can be positive as well as negative. and of course there is always acceptions because as swim said the stigmas and what not are generalizations.

cocaine-

amphetamines/meth-

hallucinogens-

downers-

opiates-

Re: certain drugs and there stigmas

Not wishing to perpetuate stereotyping (so I go ahead anyway!):

Cocaine : Business execs, rich alcoholics, DJ`s, Photographers, business organisers, music industry, club scene, yuppies, crime bosses/big wigs, bouncers, lawyers, paranoid schizophrenics, wrinkled facial skin and sinus probs, black drug dealers (black meaning those of african descent - not knowingly racist but a strong connection through experience)

Amphetamines/meth : Young-late teenagers, ravers (commercial and white glove posse), long distance drivers, DJ`s, clubbers and those working in the club scene, paranoid schizophrenics, skinny people w/bad skin and no/missing teeth, gurners and teeth grinders, night workers

Hallucinogens : Students, Pretentious wankers, Geeks, Hippies and tree huggers, Pagans, festival goers, trippy music makers/listeners, spiritual gurus, immensely wise beings

Downers : People that cant/dont get out of bed, Pre/teenagers that mix em w/alcohol, those hypocrites otherwise opposed to "drugs" yet whom have discovered/become addicted to scripts, glue sniffers, students

Opiates : Asians, Americans, old army officers (from WWII), doctors, homeless, thieves, muggers, scammers, violent desperados, alcoholics, prisoners/prisons, addicts, HIV, aids, Hep, collapsed veins, generally those whom are skinny, w/bad skin, sunken/dark eyes, and of general ill mental and physical health, people with very troubled past (and troubled future)

This is NOT what I think of all users of these, nor do I perpetuate these associations, but either through experience or prejudice these associations are what come to mind.

Hallucinogens - the 'erowid set' who could (and do) write a 1,000-word essay comparing 2C-N64 to 2C-BJ69 and listen to Tool/Shpongle/Infected Mushroom while visualising their pineal chakra and jerking off with their thumb up their arse.
