Zolpidem tolerance experiences

SWIM has been taking 10 mgs of ambien speraticly for a few mouths and SWIM was getting nice affects. SWIM was consistently getting a mild follwed by a peaceful sleep. Then SWIM stared to notice he was getting somewhat drossy but not getting the usual potency. The next time SWIM took Ambien he took 20mgs and still felt nothing. He then the next time took 30mgs and still was not feeling the effects he used to get consistently from 10mgs. Keep in mind SWIM only would take Ambien once maybe twice a week tops. Has anybody else had this experience or any advice on what to do for SWIM

Re: Zolpidem tolerance experiences

Wow that is pretty crazy especially since your not taking it everyday. I was given ambien but can only take like 1/4 of the pill and it'll knock me out. Crazy too since I have a high tolerance to opiods.

Re: Zolpidem tolerance experiences

SWIM had the same experience, developed a tolerance to Ambien very quickly. Has SWIY tried the time release Ambien? That may help. SWIM has also been on Trazodone and Seroquel, which have been a better help than Ambien. Seroquel even in its smallest dosage has knocked SWIM on her arse every time. Trazodone took a bit of time to work and had to be increased in dosage but still more effective than Zolipidem.

Re: Zolpidem tolerance experiences

Swim has the same experience.

Swim used to take it most nights, at high doses. And after a while, the psychedelic aspects slowly dissapeared.

Swim stopped taking them for months, then took them again, and still had lack of effects. Swim is insuffulating 40mg tonight, so will leave a comment here tomorrow with the outcome.

madmatt3d added 309 Minutes and 20 Seconds later...

Swim insuffulated 60mg.

An hour later, very little activity. Minor visuals. Dissapointing.

If it dowesnt pick up in an hour, swim is going to bed dissapointed

Re: Zolpidem tolerance experiences

SWIM has been playing with ambien and has noticed slight tolerance build, he is a student and found that taking a break on non sleep essential weekends, supplementing with delicious valerian and melatonin, seems to lessen the tolerance buildup.

SWIM would also recommend valerian and melatonin anyway, melatonin after a while will probably help him become more naturally sleepy and with a little valerian kick will knock him to sleep everytime :P just the way he would like it.
