swims friend has some 20mgs of oxycontin non generic and wants to im them not iv.. whats safest way to to that so swim wont get hurt.. and get most out of swims oxys

Cook the pill like you would any other injection, removing the outer coating with a clean wet towel of course and filtering properly first. Larger needles are usually used for IM, usually 21 or 23 gauge being 1.25 to 2 inches long. The most common place to inject is in the center of one of the large muscles on the front thigh. Also the deltoid , gluteaus between the hip and femur, and pretty much the most dense section of any major muscle group.
IM injections should be given at a 90 degree angle to insure the needle reaches the muscle and to reduce pain. Stretch the skin over the site to reduce the sensitivity of nerve endings and insert the needle in a dart like action. You should be able to feel how fast to push the plunger, considering you should feel a little burn either way. The slower the injection, the less painful it will be. Also, if it is a large amount of fluid you are injecting, use multiple sites to avoid soreness.

Remember, filter WELL or your muscles will hate you for a long time.
