Addiction advice
Hi this is probally the most heard question but I really need to hear it with my circumstances
I had a car crash back in Jan this year that resulted in me having some serious back pain. After going through every pain killer from paracetamol up I was finally put on Tramadol in March. I am on 200mg of slow release tramadol 100mg in morning and 100 in the evening. I am also on 100 mg every 4 hours max 400 mg per day. About a month ago I asked if there was any alternative to the tramadol as it had stopped being as effective so they took me off the slow release and put me on a 52.5 micrograms per hour Transtec patch (Buprenorphine) I am trying to get off the Tramadol but I feel sick all the time and start to have hot and cold flushes and also feel light headed until i take a tramadol. Can someone suggest what I should do as I feel really shit and so far have not been able to work since the accident I am still in pain but really need to stop this feeling all the time Thanks in advance |

Re: Addiction advice
This is really a dilemma. Perhaps swiy should get the doctor to taper swiy off tramadol.
But then there is the pain issue. Though I've heard Buprenorphine works great for some people. Perhaps it's the fact that it's a slow release patch, which puts out too little Buprenoprhine at a time. Maybe swiy would want to switch to higher dosage? Maybe swiy wants to switch to a more powerful opioid in general, like oxycodone or morphine. However this is just delaying the inevitable sickness (though it will make less often at first). Or maybe swiy would want to get off opiates in general (this way you won't get that terrible sick feeling from them ever again), and maybe switch to something like carisoprodol. I've heard that carisoprodol works great for back pain, though I've never had first hand experience with the medication and back pain. |
