Pharmacology - Dihydrocodeine Bioavailability

I just saw that the oral bioavailability of dihydrocodeine is only 20%, would that mean if someone were to take 1000mg for example, they would only in effect be getting 200mg?

i think that sounds right 10% of codeine gets processed into morphine and dihydrocodeine is around twice as strong as codeine.
dont take my word for it but im not sure.

is it safe to iv dihydrocodeine? i think i remember reading dihydro iv is 3 to 4 times stronger than codeine.
i know you cant iv codeine if you do fluid can build up and kill you, but will the same apply for dihydrocodeine?

About injecting dihydrocodeine swim wouldn't know but is sure that's been covered many times, UTFSE.
Although it is true that dihydrocodeine has a bioavaliability of 20%, it's much stronger than codeine.Although swim has never tried this and hopes he never does, swiy could try plugging it with a syringe with no needdle which should vastly increase it's bioavaliability.

swim has never tried rectal administration him self its meant to double its bioavaliability.
your right tweak injecting dihydrocodeine has been covered swim just did not look hard enough.
for anybody who is thinking of injecting dihydro dont do it it could lead to death from release of massive amounts of histamine in the body.
could be a cheap costume for a Halloween party if you want to go as the elephant man.
