Dose - Oramorph SR 30mg "splitting" question

I am rather new when it comes to slow release morphine, what I want to know is can I crush these up and divide the powder into smaller bits, as if dividing the pill into, say quarters, to get 1/4 of the 30mg dose?

does it work that way with extended release pills?
or am I just asking for trouble?

Depending on SWIMS tolerance they may be looking for trouble although 30mgs is not that much.Swim should play it safe and divide doses like he said and take it from there.

Slow release will take quite a bit to peak. Taking a small piece, maybe half or so, and grind it and take at once. 15mg morphine does not have much potential to be dangerous. Taking the whole 30mg at once ground up could be dangerous for the opiate naive.

Also, snorting/rectal of morphine is more more effective than oral.

SWIM has also found that sublingual morphine also has a "kick" to it.
