color/smell of codeine

So my cat came home today with some allegedly pharmaceutical pure codeine (liquid). Is it supposed to be pink/purple and smell vaguely of shampoo? He says it actually smells pretty appetizing.

Also, he says there appears to be two liquid ounces. How much of that is needed for a trip? It's possible he doesn't really know what liquid measurement is and that ounces isn't right.
