Purity - cocaine turns blood red

swim and some friends were cooking some up and made a lightbulb vapourizer out of a small lightbulb. to test the bulbs effeciency, swim first smoked powder cocaine.
before it started to vapour, everything melted to turn a bright red(it was approx the same color as blood when u cut yourself, a deep crimson)

when snorting the cocainehcl, none of swims friends experienced a drip. swim experienced a "coke burp" he associates with bicarbonates as a cut.

would bicarbonates cause the cocainehcl to turn that bright red swim was talking about?

Personally never seen bicarbonates burn/vaporize anything even remotely red, but that's me.
