memory loss

I wondered have you ever experienced any short term memory loss from smoking rocks? SWIM only smoke occasionally, but got to thinking about the zinger described in a previous post, and wondered. If the brain is oxygen starved could this happen? What’s your experience?

Re: memory loss

Swim has suffered memory loss from using cocaine. As in, forgetting parts of the night from the sense of time being greatly sped up.

Swim's night on coke are difficult to recollect. Not exactly blacked out, but hard to piece together.

Perhaps cocaine interacts somehow with memory? Swim is unsure of the chemistry behind both cocaine and memory.

As for starving oxygen, you would have to hold in the crack smoke for over 5 minutes, or breath nothing but crack for 5 minutes, neither which is possible.

Swim once had a very intense experience with nitrous oxide where he was alone and was dissociated for an unknown time. When Swim "came back" to earth, time was distorted, and he was SURE he damaged his brain. He was afraid he was out cold for a few minutes, not breathing.

Re: memory loss

What I'm talking about is forgetting where I put the keys, or the meeting with my boss, difficulty remembering small details, names, phone numbers, etc.
Could be all the years of smoking herb, but I never had this problem utiil I smoked the rock. Maybe it's just age.

Re: memory loss

Well, smoking crack is not going to cause oxygen problems in the brain.

Personally, Swim has never had memory problems smoking pot.

Re: memory loss

NIK has short-term memory loss, but is not sure whether it is from the cocaine itself, or the anxiety and depression that came with it.

13 months clean and NIK's still not back to where he was before he started that insideous habit . . .

Re: memory loss

FIVELEGGEDRAT, isn't that common with nitrous use? SWIM means for a short period of time at least, it has happened to him for what feels like 10 minutes but in actuality is only 15 seconds or so. But if SWIY were in that state for a extended period of time, that must have been horrible, especially if that WAH WAH WAHing sound kept going. But SWIM hasn't encountered any memory loss associated with cocaine, even after excessive usage for about 2 years straight. He blames it on the herb, since memory loss happened before cocaine use started.
