Religion is long overdue, Care is the runnerup :

"The New Testament is basically about what happened when God got religion."
(Quote from Terry Pratchett, the famous autor of the hilarious Discworld books)

When unconditional belief distorted into religion and its logical offspring, burocrats, -be it priests or mullahs- , stumbled upon its implementations and possibilities, they invented "Theology", their heinous definition for their Law & Order Department.

Many past and present dictators confessed that they watched the activities of many western and eastern governments for the past decades with frank admiration and amazement. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to them. They always had to wrap their policies in sheets of lies and deception to survive.

That's why the global populace has to endure the rise of so many factual dictatorial democracies.
They elect the most conning criminal minds, let them slowly rise to power, and still believe they have the ultimate say:
Elections...
Such a farce.
And notably the religious 'democratic' parties deliver the best experts: since most of these zealots 'honestly' belief their own lies. It's part of their heritage, they got already tricked by the one religion they were fed at a too young age to be able to be critical at all.

So, start to watch your childrens and grandchildrens education with Argus's eyes.

By law, it should be strictly forbidden to indoctrinate them with just one version of religious opinion.
Our task will be to force every school to give, by law, access to every bit of pro and anti religious and theological information for all students, so their open minds can take a balanced stance on any kind of religion or religious detritus, make decisions on their own and eventually come to a final conclusion at a mature age.
This is especially true for the early, character forming years in our childrens life.

As a result of this groundbreaking policy, after no more than 2 generations, so about 50 years, war and famine will be wiped off the earth, because true -Care- will have replaced religion.

And that disgracefull race nowadays called politicians, more precise, swindlers, will have to adapt the new rules, or disappear.
Our offspring will have forced them by then to evolve to policy monitors and caretakers.

Never going to work. You know why? Because religion wants you to pass on your beliefs to your children. It's a cycle. And since most people fear everything, they won't really care if their children have a free will or not.

Sadly the beliefs that most children are getting instilled today
are from sources other than parents and churchs mosques etc. Goverment
controlled schools and mass media are the greatest enemys parents today
face. While trying to provide a life with basic physical needs for the
next generation most dont have the time or knowledge themselves to
impart an unbiased or even just a biased way of thinking.

The worst thing to come of modern secularism is not the fall of
religion, but the sense that today nobody really believes in anything
at all.

A friend of mine said ''I can't believe, it just seems to me that
religion depends on how you're brought up, and because I was brought up
to be cynical and question things, I can't actually believe, I just
don't find it possible to have faith''

And, you know, I'm almost inclined to agree with him that 'religion is just how you're brought up' - what do you think?

Religion is a matter of culture and nurture. Faith is not
religion. I think people have a hard time finding faith in religion
because they make the mistake of trying to have faith in religion, when
IMO they should be looking for faith in god/goddess/deity/Great
Spirit/Xochipilli/The Eternal Buzz etc.
