Dose - How to tell dr. swim thinks dosage needs increased?

Swim got an adderall script recently. He is supposed to take 20mgs in the morning and 10mgs afternoon. Swim has found it takes 30mgs to notice a change in his lack of motivation, racing thoughts, etc... Swim doesn't know how to tell his doc he thinks the dose needs increased? Should swim just tell him he took 30mgs and that dose actually gave him positive effects?
