it's real problem. please help

swim bought the white crystaly powder that seller said that is ephedrine hcl.

how can test it immediately and sure that's ephedrine.hcl?

[that is soluble in water and methanol and insoluble in toluen.]
it's mp is 118C -120C

swim react that with rp/i method and at end of reaction smell that and it was same smell with meth
but in a/b extraction any particles don't dissolve in top layer(np).
