Hmmm?

Swims never been into opiates, never appealed to swim, but of the past two years or so swims had horrible pain, in his bones, which s/he assumed is arthritis, but could be something else.
The worst of the pain whichis horrendous is in Swims Neck, spine and right shoulder, but s/he gets bad pain swims wrists and left ankle aswell.

Swim recognises Opiates as good pain removers.

Since the pains so bad at times it causes Swim the inabilty to sleep, and when s/he gets a good night sleep, swim just feels lethargic and forgets dates, times and cant keep track of the current day.

Swims english and began to smoke tobacco when the pain and lack of sleep began to frustrate him/her and cause stress.

Swims going to visit his/her Doctor but isnt sure what he'll say. S/he doesnt want to seem like s/hes looking for drugs, Swim just wants something that will effectively relieve the horrendous pain that Swim has to deal with. Its really that bad.

Re: Hmmm?

Swim would actually suggest trying all other medications and therapy before going to opiates.
If it is arthritis and swiy chooses to go with opiates, the amount taken will have to be increased every month or they will not be effective. After a year or two, swiy will have to decide whether to keep on the extremely high level of opiates they are on or to go through a horrific withdrawl and end up with worse pain then he/she started with.

Even when used as directed by a doctor swiy will become physically addicted to the opiates and even if swiy never becomes physcologically addicted, it is a horrible feeling to know that one will feel very sick if they stop taking there medicine.

Ask about using tryclic anti depressants, they work for some. Also, some snri's work for pain.

Opiates should be a last resort. Having pain sucks, swim knows. He has to deal with it everyday. Swim decided to go on opiates about a year and a half ago, they worked great, but every month or two he had to increase the amount for proper pain relief. Eventually swim decided that he was taking more than enough and asked the doctor to not let him go up on the dose any more. Now he is just taking opiates for no real reason, it seems that a few tylenol is more effective than 50 mg of morphine or so.
