If you think it, it is. |

interesting. but for arguments sake im going to say that the mind is not matter regardless of what i think. certainly i can concieve the mind to exist as some form of matter but this can in no way relate to any matter that we can percieve in the world around us. the mind is capableofimagination and this alone defies any law relating to matter that we know of. so what are we left with, a mind that has properties but is nothing. The mind exists, its identity is unknown and it does not relate to the body. The mind for us is like being in a box, and if we dont know what exists objectively outside the box then we cannot begin to make judgements on what the box is. |

But someone thought of the box, Im not saying that if you think it it will instantly be im saying that all that is was a thought first, there is mind without matter but there is no matter without mind

What is matter? What is the matter? In the religious world there are 2 states of being. One is physical (this world called earth), and one is meta-physical (what is not of this earth ... heaven, for instance, OR pure thought). I believe that it depends on where the mind is. 1. When the mind is thinking about this world (and the things of this world), it is matter. 2. When the mind is swirling through the Universe, and into the other realms of existence, it is NOT matter. In fact, this question itself ... is it matter (does it matter)? Is it pixels on the screen, or just my eyes talking to me? Abeam of light is 2 forms of existence (according to Quantum Theory), physical and non-physical. This leads me to think that what we call matter (or a dog, or a star) does not make it so. To hang around in humanity, it is more convenient to have names for everything, and categorize things. Then, when we see something, we can recognize it (or use it as an analogy to something else). This way our minds don't have to work very hard. |

Matter is simply energy vibrating at lower level. Refer to
Einstein on the topic. The seperation of these into two subjective catergories is more a classification for convience. So the answer is very simple. The mind affects matter only insofar as matter affects the mind. There is no action without an equal and opposite reaction. Now if this is so then how does our personal energy effect change in matter, how does matter effect changes in us? Of course my favorites are the three blind men trying figure out the elephant and schrobingers cat. Anyone ever hear those? |
