Free Album From Illegal Art's Girl Talk
I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Girl Talk's first album, Night Ripper, but it was a big hit among critics. If you like DJ Shadow, RJD2, Diplo, and other DJs who make original music, you'll like Girl Talk's work. He takes pop music, both new and old, and mixes it together in a fast-paced juxtaposition of different types of music.
Anyway his second album was recently released online in the same fashion Radiohead released their latest album. You pick how much you want to pay. $0 and they only ask why you decided to pay nothing (multiple choice). $5 gets you FLAC format files and $10 gets you, in addition to the FLAC files, a copy of the album when it gets produced physically. Still, $0 gets you 320kbps quality audio files and it really is a good listen. If you like this album, make sure to check out Night Ripper as well. Girl Talk - Feed The Animals If you do download the album, please share your thoughts on it. Last edited by GForce; 30-06-2008 at 11:42. |

Downloaded this recently and gave it a few listens. Like it so far, there are some sections with really sick mash-ups (pretty eclectic too). If you like a diverse range of music this is worth checking out as its sweet when you recognize the samples being mixed. Plus its free, so why not check it out?
Any amount includes $0.00 I know cause I decided to be a cheap bastard and not pay to DL it.

Re: Free Album From Illegal Art's Girl Talk
Thanks Alfa, things just kept veering more and more off course. I just want to talk about music. Anyways, if you liked this album check out Night Ripper. I'm having a hard time deciding which one of his albums was better. His first two albums weren't that great because he didn't define his style the way it is defined here yet. But his latest two albums are just a really great show of creativity in mixing songs together that wouldn't seem to complement each other. I don't know if you caught the part with Busta Rhymes and The Police but I thought that was done really well. Also, I really liked the mix between Jay-Z and Radiohead. There are a bunch of really good parts, but those two in particular caught my attention on the first play.
