Thailand's government has resurrected the country's so-called war on drugs that claimed thousands of lives under Thaksin Shinawatra, the former prime minister. Selina Downes reports from near the Thai-Myanmar border where increased drug smuggling and opium production has prompted the crackdown.

What the video dosn't show, is the brutal killings and burning of villages like last time. These people are in a very difficult position, to say the least. The video shows the people nicely going along with the police to destroy the crop, wouldn't ya just love to know what happens if they would try and keep their crops.

No matter where you are in the world the term war on drugs equals brutallity,violations of basic human rights,and hypocricy.
