Oramorph solution 10mg/5 ml.
SWIM has a bottle of Oramorph solution 10mg/5 ml.
SWIM normally takes 90mg of codeine phosphate to satisfy his needs, what would be the equivalent dose of the Oramorph to achieve a similar dose/result. Is SWIM correct in the assumption that 10% of metabolized codeine is transformed to morphine, therefore, 90mg codeine is equal to 9mg morphine. Or does oral morphine undergo any further metabolism. Any help would be appreciated, SWIM does not want to go blue! |

Re: Oramorph solution 10mg/5 ml.
Thats a very low tolerance. Oral morphine bioavailability is shite about 40-50%, plugging will result in far greater efficiency, start with a low dose 5-10ml rectally. If you cant stomach that then 15-20 orally, and base further doses upon that.
