Drug use/addiction among youth- is it getting more common and how can we treat it?
I feel that drug abuse is getting more and more common these days. Well, i feel everything happens for a purpose, and there are definitely many reasons why youths are addicted to drugs.
Please comment on any questions below: 1. The impact on their future if they are addicted to drugs. 2. How do they get along with the society or their family? 3. Who can they turn to for help? 4. What kind of treatment process will drug addicts undergo? Feel free to comment or share your personal experiences. Thank You! |

Re: Drug use/addiction among use- is it getting more common and how can we treat it?
My views are much like Fnords actually, great minds....Drug and alcohol abuse has been around forever. With this war on drugs, it is more in public view. Just my opinion. I think it fuels the war more.
I will answer these questions based on a certain 18 year old I know. 1. The impact on their future if they are addicted to drugs. A great deal in his case. He didn't finish high school and can't and wor't work. Not to mention he now has a felony record. Very bad...future bleak at the moment. 2. How do they get along with the society or their family? Badly, he constantly fights with family members and always lands in jail so that answers that about society. 3. Who can they turn to for help? They have to admit they have a problem in the first place. After that family, friends if they have sober ones, etc. Someone that is trustworthy that one could confide in without judgement. 4. What kind of treatment process will drug addicts undergo? Depends on the drug and what helps the addict. |
