Mixing Morning Glory seeds and an SSRI
SWIM has 400 Morning Glory seeds and the supplies for water extraction. SWIM would like to try MG seeds, but is not sure if they are safe to combine with her perscription antidepressent which is an SSRI (Zoloft, to be more exact). SWIM would appreciate any info on this combination and possible dangers.

Re: Mixing Morning Glory seeds and an SSRI
Whether or not this combination is safe, a prescription for an SSRI will likely cancel out any psychedelic effects from the morning glory seeds. A full two week break would probably be required for good effects from a psychedelic and this may or may not be possible depending on why SWIY takes SSRIs.

Re: Mixing Morning Glory seeds and an SSRI
Ayvah, swim safely combined MG seeds and Escitalopram. The doses starting at 40 pulverized seeds held sub-lingually to 10g finely ground seeds extracted of LSA's using the cold water method.
I agree with chrisn, swim had diminished effects compared to use before being on Rx SSRI, but nothing undesirable. All of the experiences were pleasant and very thought provoking, especially when paired with cannabis. |

Re: Mixing Morning Glory seeds and an SSRI
SWIM is planning to try the combination, but hold off on her med for 48 hours first. SWIM hopes this will make a difference because she uses the daily pills, not the timed release (which only have to be taken weekly).

Re: Mixing Morning Glory seeds and an SSRI
SWIM has recently combined the ssri fluoxetine (40mg/day, long-term use) with 5 seeds of Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, which is from the same family as Morning Glory Seeds. This resulted in perhaps the most intense and happy trip that he has ever experienced. (And he has experienced more than a few)
So he certainly can't confirm the diminished effect, reported as above. |
