GBL keeps someone from falling asleep?

SWIM was trying GBL for the first time and took 1 ml about an hour before going to bed. However whenever they were drifting off to sleep they would awake with a sudden jolt. This was happening over and over again for hours.

I think awaking with a jolt in the first stages of sleep is fairly common and SWIM gets it occasionally (about once a month maybe) normally.

SWIM also did not get any euphoric effects, only a feeling that they described as a bit like being drunk but not as pleasant or relaxing. They also said it seemed to cause a ringing in the ears, slight headache and sensitivity to sound (i.e. sound seemed louder and irritating). Is it worth them continuing with GBL? Their primary reason for taking is to cut down on alcohol, and they thought that taking a dose of GBL when they had an alcohol craving (typically every 3-4 days when they would usually binge drink) would get rid of the craving.

Re: GBL keeps someone from falling asleep?

Swim had the same the first couple of x times he did gbl. It seems to be dose dependant. If he takes 2 ml he doesn't get it. If he does 1 ml, he got the wake up effect. If he does to much, he also got little jolts the whole time in his hands.
It could be swiy didn't get any euphoric effects, because swiy uses alcohol on regular basis.

If swim uses it for sleeping, he starts dosing 2 hours before. For example -this is for swim personally- 1.5 ml at first. When he starts to feel it, he can decide to take another 1 ml before bedtime. For some reason he doesn't wake then.

Re: GBL keeps someone from falling asleep?

Well swim has been having more pleasant experiences with gbl recently. I think the bad hangover and waking up experience was due to swim having being spraying a classic car and having lots of solvents in their system. Either that or a bad batch purchased from London.

Now swim still gets a wake up effect and wouldn't recommend GBL for sleep, but now when they wake up they feel an exstatic feeling like having an orgasm and then fall asleep straight away again. Also got very cool dreams including some lucid dreams and out of body experience.

As for alcohol, swim drank a bottle of wine and a beer recently and fancied a bit more but shops were closed so decided to top up the intoxication with 1 ml of GBL. Normally swim would feel the effects of 1 ml. However after drinking alcohol the GBL appeared to do nothing what-so-ever. This seems a bit contrary to popular belief. Not recommending using alcohol and GBL, still think its pretty stupid given the small quantities of GBL needed to cause an effect.

Re: GBL keeps someone from falling asleep?

When swim is taking gbl he always takes the last boost shot of 1ml just before going to bed,he also keeps an glass of orangejuice with around 1,3ml next to his bed so he can drink it and continue sleeping. When swim takes too much he gets little electric shocks or something like that to hands and some weird popping sound in ears.

He has failures with gbl almost every day its so hard for him to find the right dose its either too little or too much for almost everytime for him.The boosting is something swim doesnt manage.

superiii added 5 Minutes and 1 Seconds later...

Swim also has had some weird experiences when woking up and still feeling that he has some ghb affecting.Swim has heard his father saying something positive about his gbl use twice when woking up eventhough swim doesnt live at him anymore.
