I have found a few recipes for poppy tea and
laudanum on Erowid and elsewhere.

But what recipe/s has/have worked best for you? Any
other tips you can give would also be helpful and
appreciated.

Grind all your pods and 20 cm of stems first. the alkaloid content can vary largely from bunch to bunch even between pods in one bunch. if you get some with high thebaine content you will feel pretty shitty. so grind and mix all, this way you have a steady alkaloid level. extract with 70:30 distilled h20:alcohol (or just use rum) at 70 C for 2 hours. repeat 2 times with the spend material. put in a glass that you can close. heat a candle in another pot until its really thin like water. pour it in the (before filtered) extract, close it and shake it strongly. shake from time to time to not clog the glass. then when all the wax seems to be visible again put it into the cooler for 20 minutews. then filter. you will have a nice clear dark brown liquid. the fats which are really disgusting will be out. then pour it in a plastic bowl and out this one into a water bath. evaporate the liquid down until it has a consistancy like honey. mix it with apple juice and voila. thats the easiest preocedure and will give you a nice bang. but thats my personal opinion. of course you can skip the step with the candle but the product will taste 10 times worse then.

you can also start with a normal poppy tea first. i think everyone should go through that at least once...
