Quick Question
SWIMs lil brother is bipolar and his new doctor is putting him on some new meds. And one of them is called Risperidone. And SWIM was looking it up on wiki and it said
Many antipsychotics are known to increase prolactin because they inhibit dopamine. Now what exactly does that mean? Does it make more dopamine or does it slow the dopamines down? |

Re: Quick Question
it slows it down. the main reason for schizophrenia is too much dopamine production. the antipsychotics keep them at bay.
but swiys brother has bipolar disorder and its not uncommon for them to prescribe them an antipsychotic seeing as they can have similar symptoms. |
