Post Oxycodone contained in OxyContin coating ?

After reading another post on the site (http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21929), SWIM wants confirmation that some oxycodone is contained in the coating of the Purdue OxyContin pill. (7mg for the 20mg pill)
Could anyone confirm this ?

If it is really the case, what would be a good solution ? Should SWIM snort the coating ?

Thank you very much !

Re: Oxycodone contained in OxyContin coating ?

SWIM looked at this further, and discovered that OxyContin has a biphasic delivery system, with plasma levels peaking first at 0.6 hours, and again at ~6 hours. He then looked at the full prescribing information supplied by Purdue Pharma, and there is nothing to suggest that the coating is anything more than a time-release film. In fact, he could not find anything to suggest that the film is anything other than hydroxypropyl cellulose, polysorbate 80, and the chosen dye. He will try to look up the patent, but thus far he can find no evidence that the coating contains any oxycodone whatsoever. It is certainly not listed in the "prescribing leaflet" like the original poster suggests.

soma added 2 Minutes and 40 Seconds later...

Update: The film coating of OxyContin (80mg) contains: FD&C Blue No.1, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol and titanium dioxide. No Oxycodone.
