codeine and valium mix? pleasent?

SWIM has a nice stack of Diazem, and is wondering if a combination with codeine is nice, but he doesnt have much codeine, so he doesnt want to just give it a shot but instead find out first..
dont worry, he has tolerance and experience with both of them and has mixed them some time ago but can't exactly remember, but lately the worst side effect of the codeine, his irretability, has become worse, why he mainly stopped it using it regulary, he was thinking maybe he combination will be good?

Swim has tried the two together quite a few times, but only ever in combination with alcohol. Never tried just the two alone. Would be interested to hear any experiences of just the two

Ok well Swim decided to try this last night, and figured he would post this here to answer the original question

He is not normally a fan of codeine, unless taken with alcohol, in which case he can find it moderately enjoyable and relaxing. He hoped that the valium might substitute for the alcohol and make the codeine experience more pleasant

The setting was his front room, along with his GF and his dog and a selection of films. Doses used were ones which Swim knows have have some effect on him, without ever going into higher dose ranges. Swim didn't constantly check his watch, so can't say exactly what time all of the following occurred (apologies for this)

Took 10mg valium. Felt relaxed and calm

60mg codeine. No noticeable effect

60mg codeine. Felt slightly jittery and restless

60mg codeine. Felt itchy and sick and restless

10mg valium. Calmed down a bit, still not feeling great though. Waited a couple of hours with little improval in state of mind

Bottle of white wine. This settled Swim's stomach and made him sleepy and relaxed

The majority of the night was fairly rubbish, as described above, and confirmed that Swim doesn't enjoy codeine at all unless taken with alcohol. Unfortunately the valium did not make the codeine more enjoyable in the way that Swim hoped it might. The addition of alcohol made the effect much more pleasant though

More sedation and more noddiness, that's about it.
Swim wouldn't encourage anyone to mix drugs but some alcohol does make codeine/DHC/tramadol a bit more enjoyable. If you've got experience with each the risk is minimal, just know your limits!

Not for Swim. Swim finds that Valium takes the edge off the "buzz" he gets from Codeine
