Heroin addict, 11, accuses mum of giving her drugs

Quote:
Exclusive Schoolgirl Addict Says Mother Was Her Dealer
AN 11-YEAR-OLD girl who collapsed in primary school after taking heroin has accused her mum of giving her the Class A drugs.
The girl - whose shocking addiction was revealed in the Sunday Mail two years ago - has only now blamed her mother for supplying her with heroin.
The girl told her foster parents who now care for her and they immediately alerted social workers.
A probe by Glasgow City Council and Strathclyde Police is now underway and her mum could face drugs charges.
We told in January 2006 how the girl, then aged 11, had been treated for withdrawal symptoms.
The girl claimed she bought heroin from an unnamed woman at a shopping centre.
She had dabbled in drugs from the age of nine but children's panel hearings never took place as the family moved frequently.
A police source said: "This is one of the most shocking cases we have ever seen.
"For this to have taken two years to emerge shows the strain she must have been under."
The girl is now doing well at school and her addict parents are only allowed supervised visits with her.
Her brother was taken into care at birth in November 2005 when doctors realised he was suffering heroin withdrawal.

Grand! If this is true it is going to be another huge set back in the war against prohibition and another reason for society to have unfounded prejeduice towards addicts.
