Is Darvocet Extractable?

I ran into a bottle of Propoxy-N/APAP 100-650 that has about 100 pills in it. I wanted to know if there is a way to extract the Darvon compounds so that they can be used without the Acetaminophen. It would take me anywheres from 10-16 pills to get any benefit, but that would be a very toxic dose of Acetaminophen.

i got a bottle of propoxy last night (100 pills) and i took two today and i was fucking retarded. what do u mean u need 10-16 pills cuz i honestly dont think my body could handle anymore. sorry if this is a retarded question as im new to these substances, only reason i got them is for head and neck pains from a car accident but i gotta admit that after they took away my pain i really enjoyed the "buzz" i got, i could barley keep my eyes open and just laid there for hours relaxin'. thanks for any insight, peace...

Darvocet is weak, but the rush from shooting pure propoxy is actually quite good. You can't do a simple coldwater extraction on darvocets like you could on so many other pills. Without a merck index handy I'd guess chloroform would be a good solvent to lift the propoxy out.

No you are not retarded. The reason you can have good effect with just 2 pills is exactly because you are a new user.


I have been using on and off since 1992 and since a back injury in 1999 I have had several non-nmarcotic pain killers as well as narcotic ones. I have had mostly oxycodone but now am on a daily of 90 mg of Morphine Sulfate per day. That does nothing for me but let me forget about the pain a little. If I wanted that euphoric rush and complete abscence of pain that came from the first few times doing like 7-8 pills of oxycodone, I now have to take about 240-290 mg of morphine sulfate, pluse 3 or 4 of my 15 mg fast acting Morphine sulfate pills.


90 mg of Morphine sulfate is equivalent to taking 20 Tylenol 3 w/codeine or 18-20 Propoxy/apap pills. But as you can imagine, the amount of acetamenophen would be toxix to your liver.

but is there any way to extract the propoxy from darvocets? swim would very much like to do so since darvocets are all he has access to at the time.

its only slightly soluble in water, so you cant do a regular CWE as stated above. you'd have to find something its soluble in that acetaminophen isnt. someone above said chloroform, but swim doesnt know what exactly to look for in the MSDS to see if this is true.

"Propoxyphene is the chemical name for a class of analgesics that includes
"Darvocet" and "Darvon-N".
The parent compound is a high molecular weight amine that is only very
slightly soluble in water -- probably less than 1 mg/100ml water. However,
being an amine it is VERY soluble in dilute acids. In the commercial
formulations it is present as an amine salt such as the hydrochloride. I am
quite sure there is no data on the temperature dependence of the solubility.
