Seeing as Ibotenic Acid and the metabolites are active (have an affinity for) nicotinic receptors, especially skeletal nicotinic receptors related to the release of Ach and NE, while Mescaline acts primarily on various Dopaminergic and 5-HT(2A) receptors, as well as showing primary actions at the locus coeruleus (far away from any receptors activated by Amanitas), it is highly unlikely that they will show any neurological cross-tolerance. It is (as always) possible that the psychedelic effects of any two compounds can show a psychological cross-tolerance, but understanding the drastic difference between these two entheogens would lead swim to assume that their pharmacological actions and psychological actions manifest themselves in sufficiently different ways to alleviate any possibility of cross-tolerance.
