insomnia help !

SWIM been taking Extacy for few years. Always taking them at partys, night clubs. Always droping first pill at around 18:00-21:00 and then just keep poping more thru the night. So at around 4:00-6:00 morning after good night on Extacy SWIM used 2 just pass out ( DONT MATTER HOW MANY PILLS SWIM HAD, usualy 4-7 Pills per night ), its like SWIMs brain swiches OFF, just cant stay awake. It was kinda shit feeling wanted 2 stay awake but just culdnt Tryed 2 keep droping more pills 2 stay awake, it just dont work !

And now somthing alse happen 2 SWIM. After good night on extacy in the morning SWIM feeling tired again and want to go 2 bed, but when SWIM goes to bed NIGHTMARE starts, feeling very tired but cant get 2 any sleep so ending up just fucking lying in bed for 6+ hours , keep getting cold/hot crazy thoughts in SWIMs mind, pranoia, fear, everything seems 2 be so fucking stupid, nothing makes sense, dont want eat or drink or smoke, TV stupid and boring dont make any sense, tired of music ( coz been raving all night in club ), feeling tired and cant move but still cant get any fucking sleep !!!
Then after 6 + hours of this nightmare SWIMs finaly gets some sleep ( only like 1-3 Hours ) after that kinda feeling a lil bit better. Still shit come down !!! everything still so fucking boring, so SWIM just sit there in hes room making crazy faces whole day...

Wtf is happen ??? SWIM used 2 love come downs ! SWIM used to go 2 bed easy, have few hours sleep, wake up, smoke lots of weed, watch somthing funny on TV, listen to music. AND NOW EVERYTHING CHANGED OMFG

SWIM dont know whats going on...

Re: insomnia help !

SWIY's taking too much, that's what. Unless they're absolute shit pills, 4-7 in a night is insane. If SWIY's tolerance is that high, stop, give SWIY's body some time to recover. After a point, if one keeps taking it for extended effects, it will simply cease to function at all.

Stop for a while. Relax. As far as I can tell, the generally accepted healthy time period between experiences is two weeks, but that's sort of a minimum.

Re: insomnia help !

Another consideration is that ecstasy depletes serotonin levels. Serotonin is involved in the regulation and quality of sleep. Maintaining low amounts of serotonin can make it difficult to fall asleep regardless of how tired SWIY is and has been associated with insomnia. Less serotonin also means less available serotonin to be converted to melatonin (also involved with sleep/circadian rhythem). And finally less serotonin means MDMA will create a more dopamine-type experience rather than serotonin. Dopamine is a natural stimulant.

Suggestions would be to discontinue MDMA use for a few months and if SWIY does take it in the future, there is no benefit to taking 7 pills in one night. 7 pills in one month is excessive, let alone one night. This concept has been repeatedly stated on the forum and many other sources, yet people continue to binge on MDMA and wonder why they are experiencing problems. Binging may work with other drugs, it will not work with MDMA. And those who say that they take 10 pills a night everyday and roll hard everytime are either lying or are confusing a dopamine high with a serotonin one. Most likely the latter.

Try supplementing with 5-HTP and melatonin concurrently with an extended absence from use of any chemicals that have the word "amphetamine" anywhere in their name.

You didn't specify so I was afraid it was a lot more frequent than that. SWIY's not having any severe memory loss problems or anything, so it's not that serious and should sort itself out pretty quickly. I think SWIY just needs to watch his tolerance and how many pills he takes in one night, usually 2 decent ones should be fine for a night, if more than that is required then it's a sign tolerance may be getting out of hand. Good luck and happy raving.
