What i do not understand is how rc's are legal. I know that they could technically claim analog, but still, they are pretty much legal to possess. I personally haven't tried any of these but I certainly plan to in the near future. What i'm curious about is why they make one thing illegal, but something very very similar or something thats an even stronger version of an illegal drug is legal( such as DMT, and 5-meoDMT). It seems very strange to me, not that i'm complaining at all. It seems that they tend to move quicker towards making the club drugs illegal, compared to the ones that just make you trip balls.

every rc is technically legal until somebody is prosecuted under the analog law for it, the the dea schedules it. (which is difficult, since the DEA must study it and understand what it does before it can be scheduled. which by the way is why the "emergency scheduling" of salvia hasn't passed through yet.)

amt and 5-meo-dipt (foxy) have both been successfully prosecuted as analogs. those were gone after first because of the people that overdosed on foxy and because of the mixup of amt and 5-meo-amt which caused overdoses. I expect 5-meo-amt to go next, since it has actually caused deaths. I expect 5-meo-dmt to go soon too since it has such similar effects of dmt which is already scheduled. it's also scary that 2c-e and 2c-i are becoming so popular, since I could see those being prosecuted as 2c-b analogs.

basically, the grey market is the intent. you are buying rc's for the intent of research, not for intent for human use.... which technically takes away the "similar effects" that causes it to fall under the analog act. as soon as they have a reason to presecute one as an analog, they will and that one will become fully illegal then. until then, keep in mind your intent is for research.

It seems odd to me that the place where we are supposed to be
completely free has some of the most f'ed up rules around especially
when it comes to drugs. Its still rediculus that marijuana is
illegal. Its quite crazy. I think that every drug should be legal
for people over 21. If you choose to OD and kill yourself thats
your choice. In reality most OD's wouldn't happen if drugs were
legal considering quite a few people OD because they are using
something they think to be another drug or people that are just plain
stupid about it.

pinkavvy, no offense, but could you point to sources or references concerning deaths from 5-meo-amt? I have only seen that one in Erowid which is a nonconfirmed death.
