solo trips -- telling friends
SWIM recently did a solo 2C-B trip. He toke a long walk down the streets, heading to the forest. It was one of the most beautiful evenings in his life. SWIM didn't miss talking to other people - mostly because he was so amazed by everything (in particular streetlights, trees and walls
). This is probably nothing new for most of you. So what's the problem?SWIM is a very introverted person. He's not asocial (there is a big difference, please look it up if necessary). SWIM had no problem at all doing his trip solo (knowing his dose was safe). SWIM didn't tell his friends about his solo trip yet, and he's considering not to. What do you think SWIM should do? Some of his male friends are strictly interested in 'party-drugs' such as MDMA or cocaine. They don't do a lot of research and are mostly interested in the 'fun side of life'. SWIM guesses they will not be very enthusiastic if he asks them to accompany him. Although SWIM didn't ask them, he suspects this by considering their interests and point of view on life. They have no interest in psychedelics at all. Then SWIM his female friends... Some of them will even 'label' hims as a drugs-weirdo because he takes drugs on his own, and moreover on a 'non-party' occasion (as if this were a rule of thumb...). SWIM can probably talk to them and try to enlighten them with the beauty of psychedelic drugs. But SWIM is not sure at all if they will take it well... Of course they are his friends, and they won't ditch him. Nonetheless can it damage some relations (most likely with the girls). I currently have no intentions to trip more than twice times a month. So, what's the right thing to do? |

Re: solo trips -- telling friends
My Ferret is in a similar situation to SWIY, he has one friend who is interested in his psychedelic experience's but the rest would be uninterested/disapprove so he does not tell them.
After some experience he has found that it is best NOT to tell people who are not interested, about psychedelic experiences as it can ruin the relationship. Best not take the risk of converting them, in my ferrets opinion it's best to just leave it, no matter how much SWIY wants to share his enlightened experience! |

Re: solo trips -- telling friends
Perhaps swiys might like to share the adventures and beauty of their solo psychedelic experiences in a safe environment such as a DF blog rather than risk the disapproval of otherwise good friends.

Re: solo trips -- telling friends
Toonces only discusses the depth and perceived significance of trips with those who are very close to her and appreciate learning about others' drug experiences. If someone asks Toonces what a particular drug is like, she describes the visuals and physical sensations but trying to describe the state of mind is either too personal or too impossible.
I don't think SWIY 'should' or 'shouldnt' do anything .. if SWIY feels compelled to share his experience..by all means, someone is sure to find it interesting ![]() |

Re: solo trips -- telling friends
SWIM mostly has friends who disapprove of all drug use, especially so for the more interesting ones. SWIM has found the best course of action to be slowly introducing them to various aspects, backing off for awhile if deemed necessary. So far SWIM hasn't converted anyone, but has certainly broken through to them and created a tolerance. SWIM has found that the key is to enlightening someone is to start on common ground, then slowly move on from there. If SWIM thought he ran the risk of hurting a relationship with someone, he would immediately back off and change the subject.
