Many people equate who they are with their name and their identity. Perhaps their title, their job, their status in society. Who are you is a question pertaining to identification and comparison between people. I am me, you are you.
More deeply, I am the personality that my genetics determined, fused with the teachings of my society. I am what was made out of a few cells, I am the product of a long chain of evolution.
What are you?
A pretty silly question. We are all human beings, discussing certain topic and portraying our different opinions. I am one of the many human beings that live together, which differ in some ways and are similar in others.
More deeply, I'm the consciousness that inhabits my body. I'm the electrochemical signals in a complicated organ situated in the head. I'm the reality creating machine that attempts to interpret reality as I interact with it. I don't touch, see, smell or hear. I receive the signal and make it into an experience.
When are you?
A grammatical error? Perhaps... or a question asking in which time do you exist. To answer, we must exist now. To exist now, we must have existed in the past. If we existed in the past, and exist now, we can deduce the notion of existing in the future. As deep as it gets, we are existing in the moment, within the time frame, and simultaneously outside of the now. We can remember the past and foresee the future.
Where are you?
A simple question. I'm sitting at my laptop computer. I'm inside. I live at XXXXX location, in some city, in a country. I'm on planet earth. I'm somewhere in our solar system. I exist in the universe. This universe.
More deeply, I am the soul that resides in my body. I am the spirit located in my being. I am the energy, the thoughts, the consciousness in my brain. I am the driven force of life, the will to live, somewhere in me. I am the aura around me for all to see.
Why are you?
The most difficult and intriguing question of all. The one that has no answer. The one we strive to understand...

I think we only exist now. We can bring the memories of the past or the product of imagination about the furure to a present moment, but it only exist in the present. If you aren't thinking it, it doesn't exist. That's with my definition of existing. If one likes to define 'exist' as something that took place, as something that had to happen for us to live in this situation, then I might understand the definition. But in my opinion a past event doesn't exist anymore simply because it isn't happening anymore. It has left it's marks by affecting the course of future events, and it has left it's marks in our brains, so that we can remember the incident. But the event itself doesn't exist, it has morphed into a memory in our brain, that is if you want call the memory 'it' anymore. It's all about definition, but I am of the opinion that it only exists when we memorize it, because the event had to have both observer and the event itself to be what we call the experience of it happening, and memorizing it is very closely the same phenomenon to it happening, ofcourse depending on how lively we can remember it.

This seems to me as the most arbitrary question. The fact that one is asking it means that one has already missed the point. Yes it's nice to ponder about that question when you keep in mind that there's no answer, but I was talking about someone who desperately askes that question to find a fullfilment. Someone like my old man...
