Dose - how much cocaine is safe enough to avoid psychosis?

every body knows that enough cocaine or amphetamine use in a short amount of time can cause a drug induced psychosis.

how ever SWIM would like to know exactly HOW heavy would that use have to be in order to cause that.

what if SWIM just uses cocaine for one night every month and nore more than 4-5 lines that night. or could that cause some ill mental effects as well?

SWIM thinks there are many different factors that need to be considered. Some individuals are more prone to psychosis than others and gender also plays a part: women are more likely to suffer cocaine-induced psychosis than men apparently. SWIM is sure there are many, many more factors involved other than the two she's mentioned. Unfortunately, there is no safe amount. SWIM's boyfriend has been a heavy cocaine user for twenty years and other than an increase in fits (he is epileptic), he has had no serious mental problems and never suffered with cocaine induced psychosis. SWIM has used crack-cocaine for eight years and suffers bouts of severe depression. Oddly though (or so it seems to her), before using crack SWIM used to use loose cocaine (i.e. powder) only (and only 2-3 times a week), and suffered with depression so severely that she felt suicidal for a time and became a prolific self-harmer. SWIM really felt like she was losing the plot at that time and SWIM's friends became very concerned about her erratic behaviour. SWIM would like to add that she is not advocating the use of crack-cocaine in any way, shape or form but she has never felt or acted as bad on crack as she did when she used coke. SWIM knows a kid she went to school with who got sectioned under the mental health act after losing the plot when he began smoking cannabis. Other than being a bit of a stoner, he was clean as a whistle, so it just goes to show drugs are drugs and taking them is a bit like playing Russian Roulette with your mental health.

No one can tell. lol you may as well ask when are you going die. not written in stone. Although anyone can get drug induced psychosis if usage has been prolonged for large periods of time. food, sleep, health also can dictate an episode. if your referring to maybe triggering schizophrenia in people then that also varies. also if there is a family history too might give a clue to the situation. but still guesswork.

Swia used to like cocaine in small amounts but she would not wanna push her luck on it thou.
