A few questions about Tramadol...
Hey, Recently AFOAF came across about 40 37.5mg pills of Tramadol, and before indulging, I had a few questions to ask for him that I'm sure he would be greatly appreciated if some answers were found to.
1.) This was perscribed a few years back, it said the expiry date was mid '06, would that affect the potency of the drug, or make it unsafe to use? 2.) Does this drug react adversely to people taking Prozac or Lorazepam? Thanks very much in advance, I just wanted to get these cleared up before testing the water, better safe than sorry! |

Re: A few questions about Tramadol...
Ahh my pet hate, tramadol.
In SWIMs experience tramadol is not even worth the effort. SWIM didnt know they came in such a dosage though, he had only seen the 50ir and 100sr caps. between 300 and 400mg can produce some nasty side effects tho from what one has heard. Seizures and such. In SWIMs opinion it isnt even an opiate, even though some medical professionals try to class it as such. There are just as many out there whom totally disagree with this classification. tramadol itself has a very weak affinity to mu-opioid receptors, its metabolite has a higher affinity but is stil fairly low as compared to other opiates. Tramadol also had an affinity with SSRI, noradrenalin and MOA, enough to make its opiate qualities questionable at best. This is only one opinion though, one is sure that others will give a totally different insight. Hope this has been of help. |

Re: A few questions about Tramadol...
It was somewhat helpful, but in SWIMs opinion it didn't help answer either of SWIMs quesitons, although it is notable to know these things.
Most importantly SWIM wants to know about the expiry date. |

Re: A few questions about Tramadol...
Dont know about exp date, but do know that tramadol shouldn`t be combined with SSRi`s, SNRI`s, including prozac. Such combination is very likely to cause seizures!
