SSRI DMT interaction

I'm on lexapro which is an SSRI and I know you're
not supposed to mix SSRI's and MAOIs, so my question is : Is there a
way in which I can try dmt without intaking an maoi that'd mess me up?

Upon more reading, maoi's are only used when eating dmt right? So smoking it should be fine?

Yes, when smoking you do not need to take an MAOI.

I have the same problem. I have all the materials for Ayahuasca but because I am taking celexa I am afraid of running into serotonin sydrome - Any ideas as to how to get around this problem?

As far as I know, there's only two ways around it.



one - stop taking the SSRI/SNRI for two weeks, take the huasca, then
wait another two weeks to start taking it again. Is risky, but is not
serotonine sindrome.



two - smoke dmt. Get a short, intense, 10 minute trip.



three - talk it over with your doctor. All those years at med school
will probably help him/her give you a much better answer to share with
us. Tell him/her that it is for religious reasons [you wont be liying;
you will most certainly get a religious experience].
